"My journey in the beauty industry began in 2007 when I started studying cosmetology at Isothermal Community College while I was still in high school. I went to high school during the day and college at night, graduating in 2009. That's where I first got my feet wet in this industry and discovered my passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful. After graduating, I worked in a few different salons along the way. While each place taught me something valuable, none of them ever truly felt like the right fit. Eventually I found myself managing a SmartStyle salon. During that time a lot of drama unfolded, and it ultimately pushed me down a path I never expected — self-employment. At the time, that path felt incredibly scary. I was a single mom raising four small children and stepping into the unknown of working for myself. With over 30 years of experience behind the chair, our founder saw a gap in the industry. Too often, clients leave salons feeling unheard, mismatched with their stylist, or unsure how to maintain their look. At the same time, many stylists aren't given the education or environment they need to grow. Honi & Hive was created to change that. What started as a vision has grown into a high-level training salon known for lived-in color, blonding, and expert extension work—including correcting hair that didn't go as planned elsewhere. Our team is continuously educated, ensuring every guest receives thoughtful consultations, customized results, and a plan to maintain their hair long after they leave the chair. Our success isn't just measured in beautiful transformations—it's in the relationships we build, the confidence we restore, and the trust our clients place in us every day.
